Newberry Main Street Organization Board and Committee Chairs

Barbara Hendrix - Main Street Manager - Executive Director, Newberry Main Street - Due to my dad being in the Air force, I have lived all around the country, like in Selma Alabama for 25 years. I have done a little bit of everything from cattle farming to washing glassware and scrubbing floors in a Hospital laboratory. I went back to school to become a Medical Laboratory Technologist from George Wallace Community College in Selma, the University of Alabama, and clinical rotation at University of Alabama in Birmingham. I moved to Florida in 1990 and worked at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Blood Banking until 2006 and retiring from the medical technology field to work in my Screen printing and sign business in Newberry. I am past Vice President of Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce and. presently I am on the City of Newberry Recreation Advisory Board, the City of Newberry Economic Development Board, the City of Newberry Planning and Zoning Board which also serves as Historical board and CDBG review task committee. After volunteering as Vice President of Newberry Main Street in 2006 and President in 2007 and 2008,I have the great privilege to be the Executive Director of Newberry Main Street Organization.

Anne Maria Bello - Treasurer, Promotions Comittee, Organization Web Master, and online promotions specialist- Born in a "Main Street" town of Queens Village New York, some of my happiest times as a child were in the town square watching the puppet shows with my dad. I have been in Newberry for almost five years, but I love the small town main street quality we have in our neighborhood. I work with GoNewberry.com and provide hosting and internet advertising for many of our small businesses. I love my job, and enjoy going to Destiny Community Church, spending time with family, travel, Sunday hikes, canoeing and motorcycle riding. I am also affiliated with the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce, as well as ABATE of Alachua.

 Patricia Yates - Director - I have lived and worked in the Dixie, Gilchrist and Alachua County area all of my life.  I love the small town ambience and am blessed to have my family in this area also. My family and I have always been active in the community.  I joined the Ameris Bank team as Vice President/Business Banker in Newberry with 35+ years of banking experience. Lowell Garrett, AICP - Planning Director, - Lowell Garrett came to the City of Newberry at the beginning of 2003 after serving 19 years with the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council. He is responsible for Comprehensive Planning, Economic Development Committee administration, Planning and Zoning Board and Board of Adjustment administration, as well as preparation and implementation f the City's Land Development Regulations. Mr. Garrett also assists the City's Code Enforcement Division and the City's Main Street Program. Lowell P.
